Defect Pixel Correction- IP Core
An image sensor may have a certain number of defective or bad pixels, which are due to manufacturing faults or operation conditions. These pixels respond to light exposure differently than surrounding pixels and therefore may produce undesirable results in the final image. Defective pixels used in an imaging device may result in visible defects in a processed image such as a bright or a dark spot in the processed image. MRA Digital’s Defective Pixel Correction IP Core compares pixels in the raw, Bayer sub-sampled domain to its neighboring and then replace defective pixels are replaced with values interpolated from neighboring pixels.
